PANDA MEAT: SOURCE BOOK 1 by Frank Kozik, editor

A cutting-edge collection of 108 contemporary underground and mainstream artists, illustrators, and graphic designers from a networked community of self-made artisans. In recent years, the world of independent poster artists has created a new revolution, bringing together designers from all around the world. This explosion of creativity has resulted in the equivalent of a new pop art movement that is continuously growing in popularity. Panda Meat is a source book to some of the great talent involved in this new movement. Each artist uses different media, but all of them work independently to manufacture their own products. Contact information for each artist is included in the back of the book. Edited by Frank Kozik, the widely-recognized master of concert poster art and author of Man’s Ruin, Ode to Joy, and Desperate Measures, Empty Pleasures.

Like all Noferin wooden pieces, the Pecanpals are made from 100% sustainably harvested wood. They are made from rubber tree wood that would otherwise go to waste. Rubber trees are planted for their rubber, and after about 20 years, their rubber yields start to diminish. We use this beautiful wood, thus saving it from the fire pit.

From their studio in Australia, Candy and Nick delve into the whimsical world of Carrara Island and its inhabitants – meshing the fine art, design and literary worlds together in a complete and unique package.

“Our world is a living environment that grows everyday. At first, we were shaping and creating the boundaries of Carrara Island, but now the world is so vivid and real to us that our role has changed from creator to story-teller. We are the vessels for telling the stories of Carrara Island and the unique characters that call it home. Noferin wishes to take the audience on a journey of discovery that uncovers something new and quite magical with each chapter of this perpetual narrative.”
